Who's on the stand?

Since we received a transfer offer that we just couldn't refuse for @Handsome_Chris, hugs this year  will be available on another stand ... so you'll have to be careful as you wander around the show in you want to avoid that special Handsome hug experience.

On our stand, we'll have me, @digitalscream and @bridgehouse on both days.  If anyone else is coming to the show, and fancies helping out on either day, let us know on this thread.

Mr @Clarky will be there on Saturday, with his usual discreet and easily-missed rig.  Mr @digitalscream also has a cunning plan to provide a little visual interest to the stand too.

I'm not sure that those bikinis could be considered "visually interesting"

All I can say at the moment is that it will involve a few of our more popular business members.

Yes, loads of them, depends on what you are looking for (and to be fair, your age will be a factor too)

Somewhere to have a couple of quiet pints of ale,if age is a factor I don;t want to be there.

I’ll throw in some ideas if no  one else has although Birmingham city centre on a Friday night it’s probably going to be busy. Lots of pubs though.

I know adults sometimes go to the Old Joint Stock by the cathedral - still central Brum but not in the main boozing sections. Almost next door to that is The Wellington which is a specialist real ale pub although that’s all I know about it.

The only old fashioned, spit and sawdust place that comes to mind is the Prince of Wales near the Symphony Hall. My brother in law ( in his sixties) is a regular and I’ve been as they have bands midweek.
Around the corner from that is the Malt House by the side of the canal and which is huge so you can disappear a bit.

Nearer the station there is Brewdog which I know people off here before have used - although coming to the Midlands and drinking Scottish beer seems questionable activity to me.

Anything on Broad Street  will tend to be young, studenty, bit loud and is where the crowds will be. Brindley Place will be horrendously busy but it’s a bit more restaurant focused so more of a mixed crowd.

No, get a cab. The rose and crown in the jewellery quarter, the couple of pubs in St Pauls Sq are quite nice, don't be tempted to go local to the venue, they are all about 1 mile away from the NBH

Wait till you get there and feel the anti-gravitational pull on your wallet as it keeps trying to pop out of your pocket ...
