Anyone fancy a laugh in the south Wales/west area?

Why don’t you pop along to the Bristol Jam in feb 24? Sound like you enjoy the same music as we play!
We have done Jams in bot( Bristol, and Gloucester in the past….
Sounds awesome but you’re nowhere near me , good luck in the search & happy Christmas I’m sure there will be plenty on here
Yes, I was thinking that. There's a link to the thread below:mrkb said:Why don’t you pop along to the Bristol Jam in feb 24? Sound like you enjoy the same music as we play!

ah - whoops
Late to the parade as I don't check in here regularly, but I run jams too, but on a much smaller scale than the one above.
It's usually 4-6 people, fairly loose and it is jamming around 3 or 4 songs, for a few hours. As we only have one drummer in the pool now, it's based around his availability.
Jams are usually at Factory or Firebird studio in Bristol.
By the way:
"There is no 'H' in Aych, you know that don't you? ~ Wife"
It's: "Aitch". =)

I haven't seriously played in a while, my last proper gig was almost a whole teenage child ago. Maybe I'm having a mid-life crisis, maybe I would just like something to do once a week/fortnight other than sitting in front of the telly, or maybe I just want a reason to escape from the wife one in a while.
So, as you might gather from the title, I live in south Wales, south east Wales to be more exact. That means I have decent links to Newport and in the other direction to the North Somerset/South Gloucestershire area.
Are there any other musicians in any of these areas who might like someone of equally mediocre playing ability to jam/join/form band with, even if just for a laugh?
I have my own transport and some decent-ish gear - it all worked last time I used it, promise. I know at least three chords and can probably play little bits of a lot of songs, but know very few all the way through but that's probably only because I'm used to being interrupted every time I sit down to learn anything new. I don't know any Oasis songs, though, in case that's a deal breaker.
My taste in music is firmly in the dad-rock genre, maybe even leaning towards grandad-rock these days.
Happy to play second fiddle to more talented banjoists out there.
If a bass player is needed I might be able to convince my sister to come out of retirement - she's not that bad and can learn most things so long as she can source the pictures with the little dots on them.
