New Custom IEM day - ACS Evolve

Having used various Sennheiser and Shure IEMs over the years (everything from the entry level up to the Shure SE846 pro super-duper pair), I decided it was time to get a custom moulded pair. After doing a lot of research, I went for the ACS Evolve set.

And oh boy, are they good.

The signal chain is my Axe FX 3 into my Sennheiser ewG4 IEM rack unit, with an input from the mixer console (minus guitars). Last week at rehearsal was the first time I have LOVED what I've been hearing via the IEMs. They need very very little EQ tweaking - I have a low cut roll off at 9k (6db) and high cut at 80Hz (6db) - and they are just incredibly comfortable.

Plus, the noise cancelling is superb - I could still hear the drums etc., but I never had to keep adjusting the seal of them.

For just under £500, I'm blown away by them. Plus, they come with a very handy cleaning case with re-usable desiccant gel pots!

Highly recommended.

Just been looking for a recent post about these as i’m about to take the plunge myself and ACS seem to have rebranded their entire range with new names.

Are you still enjoying the Evolves?

I can see they now offer an “ambient” variation of each model which seems to allow a bit more spill of stage volume into your ears, but as I’ve never owned custom moulded IEMs before I don’t really know if this is something I want or not!

Yep, still gigging with them and enjoying them. I didn't get the ambient version; the standard evolves really do block out pretty much everything though, so bear that in mind.
