Stolen gear

Not sure if this is the correct category, but my friend had his gear stolen from his car a week ago.

As usual I have sympathy with him for the loss, and the thieves are scumbags regardless, but…

WHY do people leave gear in vehicles?! Especially overnight.

I’m pretty sure I read somewhere a while ago that the top two items which will result in your car being broken into to steal them are:

1. Laptops
2. Musical instruments

I get what you’re saying, he is one of the most loved people I know, he would do anything for anyone, he just happened to make a mistake, the gear wasn’t on show, but he fully acknowledges his stupidity.
