Musicman Sterling USA - Pearl Blue - Birdseye Maple
Serial No: B04520 - Manufactured November 19th 1996 - 3.01Kg
This bass comes from an era when the Sterling model was actually on par with the Stingray. With a slightly smaller body and no control plate, it weighs 5oz less on average. It is active and has a 3-way pickup selector for either a series or parallel configuration for the humbucker, as well as a coil tap that allows it to act as a single coil with hum canceling. It also feature a ceramic pickup magnet and 34” scale.
It also features a narrower neck width at the nut, making it easier on smaller hands. And has a more aggressive sound with pronounced midrange presence compared to a Stingray.
Tuners are very tarnished (work fine though), there is a string mark around the 3rd fret, and a small mark on the body and on the lower horn. A few light marks on the back, but no ‘buckle rash’. Considering it’s 28 years of service I consider it to be otherwise in very good condition.
No case. Original strap buttons will be refitted prior to sale. Strings are recent but not brand new. Frets just polished, and fretboard cleaned and conditioned.
£1100 - 0NO
From a smoke, pet and child-free home.
PS - I have an EBS Microbass 3 for sale also - https://thefretboard.co.uk/discussion/272321/fs-moog-strymon-thorpy-eqd-ebs-origin-fulltone-seymour-duncan-zvex-and-boss?new=1
