Yeah, I'd forgotten how hard it can be to judge these.

5pts @stratman3142 splendid, nicely composed and really enjoyed the tight juicy toned harmonies
3pts @Axe2Grind  listening to it i felt like a passenger in a rally car gripping my seat tightly lest we slid off the road out of control but the driver was a pro and held the line whizzing past the finish flag with a big grin and not so much as a hair out of place
1pts @Lewy super fluid playing and phrasing, beginning to wonder if you have 3 hands and 12 fingers

All entries were great. These just flicked my bean the most :+1:
Really good work by all. Loved each one.

@Lewy and @ChrisRG, very good indeed and some very tasteful stuff by Stratman, Bellycaster and Rowby1. Very creative by Fastonebaz with your sound.

Yes very tricky to choose between such a high standard of entries. @Bellycaster's backing track obviously brings out the best in people.

In an attempt to find some distinguishing features, I thought I focus on what seemed to fit the slightly understated mellow mood of the backing track. That ruled out some of the more shredding aggressive options which, coming from me, is probably a bit like the pot calling the kettle black :)

Although, I really did like the shreddiness and there are some great displays of guitar technique all round.

So on that basis:

5 points : @Bellycaster : It's just a good fit to the backing, tonally and melodically. It's like you were really familiar with the backing track :)

3 points : @ChrisRG : Ok this one got a bit shreddy but in an understated way, and remained melodic :)

1 point : @Rowby1 : Glides along nicely in an unassuming way

Well done, chaps, all great solos. I think there was a lot of scope for styles on this backing. I haven't gone with any particular feel.

5 points @Lewy - Very impressive mix of techniques, quite a rip-roarer.

3 Points @Axe2Grind - Great soaring sound, good note choices and an impressive introduction to SOTM.

1 Point @Rowby1 - I enjoyed this soothing sound as a contrast to the more "face-melty" ones, nice feel and touch on the phrasing.
Voting closes tonight at midnight.
