I used to fall asleep in lectures

When they’d talk in that monotone

Topics of academic nature

Five seconds flat, and I'd be gone

I used to feel so guilty

For snoozing while some poor joker

Lectured the class

Went to the Royal College website

To try to listen in again

When I woke up six hours later

I didn’t retain anything

I didn’t understand

So I played it that night and

I was out like a light again…

Now you don't need no prescription

Search high and low on college campus

Your local bookshop, go online

Find talks that make your eyes glaze over

Most boring lectures you can find

Set them to rock you gently

And float up to the stars

But no - not when you’re driving in your car!!!

That is very insightful and you’re absolutely right. Unfortunately, I’m not an experienced organ player and it would cost me a fortune to hire one - not to mention a proper brass section :)

But I shall definitely bear that in mind the next time I record something, thank you @funkfingers

I like that. It’s got a nice 80s pop rock sound to it, the kind of thing that most of us think we’re too cool to actually like, but I never have… to me it’s all good and I don’t care :).

It does remind me of lectures at Edinburgh Uni in the mid 80s too ;).
