Has anybody had a go at learning this song?

I did a long time ago. Don't know if I could play it now without working through it again.

The solo is one of my absolute favourites. Just beautiful...

The volume swells in the solo are a bit tricky, otherwise it is easier than I thought it would be. It's a great song to learn though, and Adrian does a good job of breaking it down. There are some tabs and notation on his website too.

I have to confess to using a volume pedal. I learnt it at a time where I was doing a lot of Steve Hackett parts in a proggie covers band. The pedal was already in place.

Thought I was being clever by posting a link to the same video - as you were!

Great song, great album, great band.

Clever bit of songwriting and the guitar lines were / are just unlike anything out there in standard rock vocabulary.
Adrian is an excellent player and teacher and definitely plays songs that are 'outside the box' mostly. I'd never even heard of the band before his videos but on listening to a couple of Spotify tunes they made some excellent songs.

Ha, I remember trying to learn it off the record about 30 years ago and what I came up with wasn't much like that! I'm sure his version is the right one.

I’ve played this live, along with See No Evil and others from the album - I played the Richard Lloyd parts. One day I want to do the whole album live if iI can. Just the best tones and parts - timeless!

Television is the reason I swerved away from distorted Marshalls and moved to loud edge-of-breakup Super Reverbs... No regrets...

Our other guitarist (our Tom Verlaine) used a 1973 Tele into a mid-60s Super Reverb and I used a Tele, JM or ‘64 Jag into an AC30 or Silverface Twin. I now use a Vibrolux mainly. Great tones!
