Ampero II Stage/Stomp/Standard thread - capture functionality out for Stage/Standard

Not much chat about these units on here but there seems to be quite a bit of respect for them from a few pro guys.

Dave Friedman has mentioned them quite a few times on Tonetalk. Michael Nielson seems to like them, etc.

Very interested in the Stage. Anyone using one or a Stomp?

Would be great to hear thoughts. And maybe use this thread for anything related to these devices.
Comments
I've got the Stomp and absolutely love it. I haven't used my HX Stomp since I bought the Ampero.

I love the interface, it's simple and elegant. The sounds are fantastic, with the only weak link being the pitch effects. The looper and drums are great for home practice.

There are some great IRs included from Celestial, but I found the regular speaker emulations really good. As are the amp models.

I had a Stomp II  for best part of a  month.  Sent it back just before the return window shut.  I was actually very impressed with it.
Thought the effects in the main were actually pretty good, and it  held up to the Line 6/Boss GT/GX100 range.
I thought the amps/ and drive blocks were better than the Line 6 HX stomp actually

The touch screen was very good, but there were a few things I'd have liked to have been able to see on screen in a band context.  Can't remember what they were actually off the top of my head but it was stuff that I found quite irritating.    . I didn't actually use it in  a room with a band but I was definitely angling towards keeping it until Fractal announce the VP4...

I think the other concern is whether Hotone continue to update the unit.  Definitely feels like it needed a few things sorting out.

Thanks for the comments chaps.

I've managed to pick up a Stage II and so far, as a practice tool, I'm very impressed. I've yet to try it in 4cm or into an amp & cab or FRFR, but into monitors and headphones it sounds really good.

What I like:
  • Amp sounds (The ones I've tried)
  • Delays and choruses are very good too
  • The apps and touchscreen are first class
  • Haven't really needed a manual
  • On device editing is nice and simple
  • Noise floor is good
What I'm not so sure about / Yet to try
  • CPU usage - tried a kitchen sink patch, got to 7 blocks and ran out of memory - I will just work around this
  • Cab Blocks - not tried these properly yet - been using my favourite IRs
  • Midi - haven't tried this yet
  • Support - it's had 3 (I think) firmware updates so far - let's hope it gets supported like Line 6 and Fractal, etc.
So far, particularly at the price point it's very good!

Just to follow-up, it looks like Ampero is getting capture functionality shortly too....

Edit: Only the new Ampero II and Stage will get the capture feature but apparently stomp and others will get a 'catch' block that can play downloaded captures at some point.

Here's a little video about it from the Youtube.

So the Tone Catch stuff is out for the stage and ampero (not stomp). Going to try a capture this week. But sounds good from what I've heard on YT. They've also fixed the latency on the cab block so they are very useable now. Great little unit!
