1966 Fender Stratocaster - Extra Information & Pictures
This guitar was imported into the UK from Rumble Seat Music in 2006 (receipt in the case). The original finish had been removed and it was stained 'excrement brown' The person that imported had planned to refinish it but never did and it sat in its case until I purchased it. There was some remnants of the original sunburst finish in the pickup and trem cavities so I sent the body off to Rich on here for a relic sunburst refinish based on the pictures of another '66 original finish sunburst Strat I had once. Once returned, I took the Strat down to Feline for them to put it back together and set it up.
To confirm the changes;
- Refin
- Refret (original nut in the case)
- Changed pots (one original pot in the case)
- Changed jack (original in the case)
- 3 way switch changed to 5 way
- Trem cover present but no screws
- Case is old, could be original but should have the no tail logo if '66 but it is a late '66 so could have been shipped with the tail logo cases that started in '67. Who knows!
More photos, including internal shots, can be found here

1957 Gibson Les Paul Special - Extra Information & Pictures
I traded this with a fellow TFB'er and they purchased the guitar from ATB back in summer 2022. It has all the original parts and finish except the case is modern.
It's had a neck repair which you can see in the extra photos but its a very neat repair. It's also had a Bigsby on at some point so you can see two dropped filled holes on the main body of the guitar but these are relatively discreet.
I love this thing. Brilliant neck and sounds immense. An original 50's Les Paul for not six figures, not five figures, but four figures!

Had a question about the state of the Strat board and any divots in the board. There are some, in my opinion, light divots on the first four frets. None after this. I don’t feel them when I play it. It was hard to photo them as they are light but hopefully this video as I twist the neck in the light shows them.

Something for the weekend?
Weekly bump
‘57 Special on hold pending the usual.
Strat and 355 still available
‘57 special has left the building :'(
At least it stayed amongst the TFB fraternity.
Who needs a Strat or a 355?

TTT
A pre Christmas 'i'm travelling to Bedfordshire/Cambridgeshire area for Christmas (23rd-27th December) if anyone is interested in anything' bump.
355 has also now left the building. Only the Strat left. Remember, strats are for life, not just for Christmas.
I have another FS thread open for the 355 but will stop that one and merge into one to keep things clean (hope that's ok mods).
All guitars available to view/play in Surrey KT19, view in SW2 (will need notice) and can be shipped for £55+VAT or £99+VAT depending on where you are with Lenspeed.
Happy to share further information and pictures but trying to the keep the first brief so easy to read. No trades i'm afraid as trades don't pay for house works!
