Ain't no drummer but ...

Haven't seen this fella for a while but I do like him ... he has a great success story too.

Just seen this vid clip and I actually thought, 'wow!'. I've never seen anyone do this before.

Just got me wondering if anyone else out there does this ... I'm guessing it requires incredible control?

I believe you may have neglected to include a link?
You better not be talking about Lars Ulrich.

That's the problem, though - at this point the real link isn't going to be nearly as spectacular as what I've imagined.

You can't edit a post with a video without breaking it.
You have to repost.
Edit: Hmmm, maybe you can't link to shorts either?

Here is another video of his:

Yes, Estapio is a brilliant technical drummer.

Yep ... YT has defeated me.

For ref, it's El Estepario Siberiano playing Africa by Toto ... I just hadn't seen such technique before.

I would argue @stufisher is indeed a drummer, and a very good one at that ( Stu 'Schoo' Fisher - one time Ozrics drummer)

Alfie has been checked out and given a clean bill of health by the vet, earlier today.

He's 16yo, had abscesses last week and required surgery on Thursday. He's 90% deaf and blind and his pre-op blood tests revealed that his kidneys and liver function are now declining. He has hyperpigmentation due to a probable tumour on his knackers, one side effect is that his hair follicles have shed a fair bit of fur, so to counteract that he's on steroids.

However, he's a trooper and after surgery to remove 6 teeth, stitching his gums up, a de-scale and polish he's back to his wonderful self.

We've not long since come in from a 2 mile walk and he's wolfed down his dinner :+1:

Thanks for asking.

Blimey, that's what you call a proper veteran, bless him

@octatonic You can do this, though:

Open YouTube and find the Short you want to watch as a normal video. Go to the URL of the video, and replace the "shorts" in the URL with "watch". Once changed, tap Enter to re-open the video, and it will play as a regular YouTube video in full screen so that you can fast forward and rewind shorts as a normal YT video

Best wishes to you and your dog, Stu!

Ta muchly @DLM  that's very useful to know :+1:

I suspect the collective appetite to watch has evaporated now but if anyone did have a view about the drumming technique then I'd be interested of course.

BTW ... Alfie's doing fine ... remarkable recovery from surgery at his age ... just gotta love him even more now

Anyway, no, I'd never seen any other drummer do the stick trick across the cymbal before.

El Estepario Siberiano is bonkers, I've watched him blow up on YT most deservedly.

He's a great drummer but I really don't like his sound/tone on these videos. Similar to the Youtube shredders, technically gifted but a bit soulless.
