Tony Todd
Never anything less than a stellar performance and by all accounts, an absolute gentleman to work with.
Another iconic voice lost.

Very sad about this one. Might have to watch Candyman again tonight. Absolutely perfect horror film in my opinion. Tony Todd hasn’t been in a bad film that I can think of, and as Dazza said, I’ve never read a bad word about him anywhere.
Horror legend. I was surprised to read he was only 69, I thought he was older. He hasn't looked particularly well in recent years.
He had cameos in a lot of bad horror movies! But he personally wasn't bad in them... although I guess some directors asked for a pretty cliched "Tony Todd performance".skullfunkerry said:Tony Todd hasn’t been in a bad film that I can think of
Yeah I wasn’t thinking about cameos, but that’s a fair point :)Philly_Q said:Horror legend. I was surprised to read he was only 69, I thought he was older. He was ace.
Several great roles in Star Trek too. Often bringing a gravitas that’s hard to achieve under layers of prosthesis.

I had thought Kurn was quite a major reoccurring character. Turns out it was just 4 episodes across TNG and DS9 apparently.fretmeister said:He was ace.

i think my favourite Trek role of his was Old Jake. Playing a very sensitive and soft writer was a nice tangent from his power roles.
He was great as the Hirogen (sp?) hunter too.
By all accounts a total gentleman. I'm so sad to hear this. Guess I'll have to re-run all the FD movies yet again.

Too recently-watched for me. Maybe the Hatchet films? Then again, maybe not.Offset said:By all accounts a total gentleman. I'm so sad to hear this. Guess I'll have to re-run all the FD movies yet again.

Actually you're right. I could do worse than re-watch the original Candyman though as I haven't seen it for ages.Philly_Q said:Too recently-watched for me. Maybe the Hatchet films?
