Very saddened by this and a great and strong actor.
I was always touched by the obvious love and affection he had for Prunella Scales, especially whilst she/they were dealing with her Dementia and I loved their canal programmes.
He was also a good egg and a young actor friend of ours was in her first production at a theatre pub in Islington and there in the audience was Mr. West, supporting up and coming actors.
RIP and I hope Prunella Scales will be ok

I second @Kebabkid’s comment. Sad loss. I too loved his canal series. RIP
Pru has had vascular dementia for over twenty years. The thing that killed my father in law in a couple of years. Long time for her to live with that, long time for Tim to stay with her and be supportive. Bless him, may he rest in peace.
He was also an astounding voice actor. His narration alone would make me buy an audiobook. His Trollope readings, as just one small example, are held in the very highest regard.
RIP

A superb skilled 'old school' actor, who also had a great sense of humour who loved & supported his wife (as it should be).

He did a series or two of the Rumpole audiobooks.
An excellent actor who leaves behind a significant body of work.

I'm quite surprised that he went before Prunella. I hope someone will be looking after her.
RIP.

Such a sad loss, he genuinely came over as a kind and caring man . . . I love his Canal Boat excursions and the way he was so down to earth . . . he was truly devoted to his wife, Prunella . . RIP Tim
I'd echo everything said here. A great actor who came across as a really lovely chap. Very sad, and I too hope Pru is welll cared for in his absence.
RIP Timothy.

Was going to post the same thing, he always seemed far more robust health wise than Prue.Philly_Q said:I'm quite surprised that he went before Prunella. I hope someone will be looking after her.
