Withdrawn: Republic Tricone Resonator

Proper Tricone with a lovely resonant sound at a fraction of the cost of a National. Picked this up earlier in the year during a buying stage, I’m now on a purge. These have a great reputation for a reason and it really is a lovely guitar. Currently set up for finger style and slide with an action of roughly 4mm at the 12th fret. Had a few moments where I was worried that this needed work, but a new set of strings (Newtone Michael Messers) and a quarter turn of the truss rod sorted it. Odd scuff and ding from age but nothing that impacts playability. I believe this to be a proper bell brass body, coated in a gun metal grey lacquer/paint.

Foibles of this particular guitar are a slightly off centre third fret marker and a tight truss rod channel that has resulted in the photographed compression marks. Now back from Leicestershire Luthiers, set up and playing really well. Just want to be above board.

Comes in a very tatty lightweight foam case. You’ll probably want to replace it, but it does the job for shipping. Collection from North Northamptonshire just off the A14, or can post at your risk. I believe parcel force 48 are roughly £25.

Adding a trade option as I’ve had a hell of a week and am out of guitar tokens for the inevitable retail therapy. Rather fancy either a 12string or a Strat of similar value. What have you got?

Got it up for £500 on eBay, call it £450 for the fretboard.

Tasty filth, that. It's got me a bit weak at the knees.

Everyone should succumb to the desire for a bit of filth once in a while. ;)

Final bump before I keep this. Just dropped it into conversation that there are gaps that could be filled on the wall. lol

The resonator would be number one of the four (illustrated by the purple lines I have scribbled on the image).

Nice semi hollows? there at 3 and 5 (from left.)

That’s a recent-ish Gibson ES345 in the middle. Bigsby B3 and Towner added because what is a guitar without a Bigsby? :) German made Hofner verythin at the end. It’s had some dodgy relic work on the bridge and tuners so these are due to be changed, with a duesenberg trem waiting to go on.

Truss rod cavity opened and guitar set up by Leicestershire Luthiers. They’ve done a grand job, it plays lovely and I am tempted to keep it.
