Anyone gigging a Fender fr10 or fr12?
Quite interested in these - any real world experience of use pls?

I use an fr10 with my function band. Running from a quad cortex or nano cortex.
Sounds great, plenty of volume, super lightweight. Very impressed.
Before getting the fr10 I used the effects return on real amps or a variety of PA speakers. Fender have voice this really well and although it's basically a PA speaker in a guitar amp box, it does sound better imo.

Yep. FR-10 here - love it. Using with either a Fractal FM9 or HX Stomp.
Previously used a Yamaha DXR10 but prefer the FR10. Plenty loud enough if you feed it a +4dB signal.

Are you guys also going into FOH, or just getting everything from the fender?
I've only done biggish functions of 200+ so had a signal going to foh as well. But imo there's plenty of volume for pub gigs etc that you might have used an unmic'd combo.willo said:Are you guys also going into FOH, or just getting everything from the fender?
Yes and it works great! I have an FR12 for sale in the classifieds. Only selling as I am no longer using a modellernewi123 said:Quite interested in these - any real world experience of use pls?
Only done pub gigs and the FR-10 is plenty loud enough on its own and carries most of my volume. However, I do send a bit of signal to FOH to help with balance/ spread.willo said:Are you guys also going into FOH, or just getting everything from the fender?
I run the FM9 in mono to the FR-10 and then take an XLR out of the FR-10 to the desk - works really well and keeps cables out of the way.
I was using a 1/4" instrument cable from the FM9 to the FR-10 but now prefer an XLR and then, as above, another XLR from the FR-10 to the desk.
Another happy FR10 user here.
Over the years I've used modellers with Yamaha, Redsound, Headrush speakers and this one is easily the best results I've had. The EQ controls are handy too and I often might knock the bass back a bit if on a boomy stage, without having to adjust my patches.
I'm using it in a couple of 10-piece bands I'm in and it's easily loud enough for me to monitor on stage with volume to spare.
I'm running a Quad Cortex direct to FoH and just using the FR10 as my own personal monitor for my guitar so I can adjust my own level to taste. I tend to have it tilted back and angled across the stage so it's not disrupting the mix too much or hurting the ears of the front row. Works great and I think the FR12 would be overkill for me and the extra size wouldn't be great on some of the stages we play.
Just for transparency, my first FR10 developed a fault after a few months and had to go back. Andertons sorted a replacement with no fuss and that one has been great so far since I got it at the start of this year.

Gigged a Fr12 for two years, absolutely fantastic! Having the eq on top is fantastic for tweaking for the room you’re in, plenty loud enough and didn’t ever struggle with the venues I was playing :-)
Thanks - what are you using into it?mrleon83 said:Gigged a Fr12 for two years, absolutely fantastic! Having the eq on top is fantastic for tweaking for the room you’re in, plenty loud enough and didn’t ever struggle with the venues I was playing :-)
@newi123 - Hi Neil, I hope all's good - I've tried Stinkfoot's rig over the last couple of years in the studio with the various FRFRs (the Redsound was good) and the FR10's the winner. It's great, loud, light and the sound transfers well and sounds more like an amp. It has more than enough bottom end and so I'm not sure I'd go for the bigger FR12.Stinkfoot said:Another happy FR10 user here.

Good to know - I`m going to try the Fr-12 in the classifieds I think and see how I get on! I`ll report back!
Please do. I’ve been eyeing it for a while, and wondering why it hasn’t already gone. I’m sure that several members here would like to know how it soundsnewi123 said:

Oh yeah, good luck with that @newi123 - I would be in for that if I lived anywhere near! A good deal.
I too am leaning towards the 12 over the 10. It doesn't seem to be appreciably bigger but the extra speaker size should help me in a band where levels are...variable, shall we say.

I use a Laney LFR-112.. and have done over 150 gigs with it.. extremely happy.. but do get tempted by the FR10 due to the weight diff..
Will do - I'm a bit of a die hard tube amp chappy, but becoming more and more impressed with the latest tech.Roland said:Please do. I’ve been eyeing it for a while, and wondering why it hasn’t already gone. I’m sure that several members here would like to know how it soundsnewi123 said:

I'll write a full gigging report in due course!
I've just received my FR10 and done one gig with it. We are on in-ears so it's really just to fill in the backline sound of the band for those near the stage. Sounded great when I pop an ear-piece out for a bit. Love the fact it looks like an amp, I was never really happy with a PA type cab behind me...using it with my FM9.
I used a fractal fm3 , really came alive (I’d previously been using a head rush frfr) fender is a different leaguenewi123 said:Thanks - what are you using into it?mrleon83 said:Gigged a Fr12 for two years, absolutely fantastic!
