Always the bit I look forward to - listening to all the different entries.

Will enjoy the listening over the next day or two, and then come back to upset most entrants with some irrational voting!

I'm going to go

5 points to ewal - Awesome shoegaze
3 points to thecolourbox for sail away - Almost reminds me of Alice in Chains
1 point to IMC1980 - Sounds like a 80s sci fi action movie sound track and I love it

Will set aside some time to give them all a good listen. Looking forward to it.

Really enjoyed listening to all of these in what continues to be the most unpredictable and varied playlist I think you will find anywhere.

My points would go as follows (but as always, I'm not saying I didn't enjoy the others as there's always something I like about each one and really value this place to share things).

5 points to Ewal, sounds like a proper release lost in time somehow.
3 points to Dindude, it made me smile and feels accomplished yet tongue in cheek
1 point to Monquixote, very fluid and thoughtful

PS, Monq, never listened to Alice in Chains but thank you - shall give them a try on spotify at some point

I think you will enjoy them, they are a mix of the more metal end of grunge and quite a lot of acoustic stuff. I think you will enjoy the harmony vocals that have some interesting choices in terms of intervals.

Loads of great stuff this time! My votes go to:

5 points @AlbertC - Great production, brilliant lyrics and an overall top tune!
3 points @Petepassion - Upbeat rocker with a proper live band feel.
1 point @ewal - Real 90s indie rocker feel to this one.

Also a shout out to @Habanero for Planet 23, this just missed off getting points, but I wanted to say that it was very imaginative and entertaining; I think you've got a career as a kid's story songwriter with stuff like that (I mean this as a compliment!).

Had a quick listen of their top 5 on Spotify, I can see what you mean, not sure I care much for the vocalist's voice but the tunes seem decent. I think I had more of a Soundgarden thing in mind but they don't sound a million miles apart so I suppose I'll take that haha

Damn, I should have done 'Puff the Magic Dragon' for the 'P' Cover Challenge!

Thanks and I agree with you. I'd like to redo this song at some point and re-genrify it. That's my new verb for the day ;-) I'm just pleased I finally finished something with vocals.

They have had two singers and the guitarist also sings quite a bit.

Maybe try the unplugged album.

Today is WFH Friday, so in between calls 'n' stuff, I've had chance to listen to all of these a few times.

The winner is the one I keep going back to - good catchy stuff, great playing, excellent lyrics, what's not to like?
5pts @Petepassion

Toss up between the next two for me - but the lyrics/concept just push this one into second ...
3pts @AlbertC

Which is a shame because I also thought this was excellent and deserved more than the single remaining point :(
1pts @IMC1980

There's a load of great stuff created here through the challenges.

5 points @PetepassionExcellent raw energy guitar pop with a catchy chorus - reminiscent of The Godfathers first album
3 point @ewalI'd prefer a little more dynamics in the arrangement but it's well written and produced shoe-gazery track
1 point @thecolourbox - An original sounding song with slight nods to Radiohead. A lot of cymbals in the arrangement which perhaps sound a bit phasey

Hard to separate but kudos to everyone who wrote (and even more impressively) sang their lyrics. I haven't got the cojones to do either! These two were really great.

@IMC1980 comes in 3rd with 1 point (but deserves more) for originality and reminding me very much of the best stuff Public Service Broadcasting produce.

5 points @monquixote
3 points @thecolourbox - See What...
1 point @dindude

Could easily have done the above three in a different order, or given points to quite a few of the others. What an eclectic bunch of tunes!
Lots of great entries. I'm going with the ones that sounded the most catchy to me and had my favourite hooks.

5 points : @AlbertC : Love the lyrics, production, sound and arrangement. Catchy. Brings to mind Squeeze.

3 points : @dindude : Great idea. Excellent use of space, dynamics and gaps. Fantastic spoken voice. Love the way the word 'Move' lands in various places. Excellent synth sounds.

1 point : @Petepassion :  You've captured real raw live energy. Loads of attitude and very catchy.

Wow, this was a difficult one, loads of great entries!
5 Points - @AlbertC  Bloody brilliant, top class. Song, production and love the Lyrical perspective. Easily good enough for a major record/publishing deal in my book.
3 Points - @thecolourbox  Sail away Again, excellent as always, this one just pipped the Bob Dylan one.
1 Point - @IMC1980  Great production and love that souring solo sound.

I was a big fan back in the day, especially their guitarist Chris Dollimore.
