The screw and washer on my classic vibe have come loose and seems like it'll be a recurring problem. Any recommendations for a replacement that's simple enough for an idiot to install?

there is an insert cup two screw one that's foolproof
Electrosocket.

(Although @stickyfiddle will be along shortly to say Rutters Cup.)

I’m right you know…

Though admittedly it is stupidly expensive for a single lump of metal.

I've put Electrosockets in all my Teles for years now. They never work loose.
Bear in mind that you may need a metric version for a Classic Vibe.

The correct solution is to replace the jack with a Switchcraft one ;)

I did this to a young relative’s CV Tele recently. Pretty sure it did have an Electrosocket type arrangement, but the screws had not penetrated the wood and was quite loose. The jack socket itself was made of the proverbial cheese and it was well worth replacing it with a Switchcraft.

I’ve said this before, I know… but…

The original Telecaster jack socket design is the proof that God is fallible.
Electrosocket all the way ... all my Teles have them.
