I'm not smart enough to post a screen grab, but I've been proper old school this year:

I really don't think I listened to Saxon that much! But I guess I did. :3

YouTube music but top artists were Black Sabbath, UB40, Duran Duran, Dr. Ring Ding and Rhoda Dakar. I think I just listen to a lot of different stuff and not really any of those a lot.
My top tracks were all guitar backing tracks (fairly surprised).
Top albums were Signing Off (UB40), Danse Macabre (Duran Duran), Dread Meets Punk Rockers Uptown (Don Letts, it's a compilation), Paranoid (Black Sabbath) and Arclight (Julian Lange). I have no memory of listening to the Julian Lange album at all!
Bands from Birmingham feature quite heavily in this!
Also does podcasts so I have spent 47 hours listening to The Rest is Politics in 2024 apparently.

Yet another year of relentless K-pop, mostly listened to at a roller rink.
21428 minutes, apparently.

Weirdly, none of the Top 5 Songs I listened to were by any of the Top 5 Artists. Doesn't seem right to me somehow?? :/
My top artists were very letter J based again
1. Jacob Collier
2. Jeff Buckley
3. Jack White
4. The White Stripes
5. Linkin Park
My top songs were predictable based on what releases have been this year, plus i needed to learn no.5 for the cover challenge!
1. Never Gonna Be Alone - Jacob Collier, Lizzy McAlpine and John Mayer (oh gosh that solo)
2. Numb - Linkin Park (another cover challenge one)
3. Little Blue - Jacob Collier and Brandi Carlile
4. Old Scratch Blues - Jack White
5. My Iron Lung - Radiohead

I bet mine was almost the same last year apart from when I thinking about joining a Steely Dan inspired band
1. John Coltrane
2. Pat Martino
3. Wes Montgomerie
4. Steely Dan
5. Antonio Carlos Jobim
I’m so current

The top song on my list is one that would often begin a random playlist when I got to the end of whatever album I was listening to. So although I like that song very much, I wasn't actually choosing to listen to it! And I think I have the four Saxon songs because I only listened to their new album, whereas I listened to the entire back-catalogues of other artists.Dontgiveupyourdayjob said:Weirdly, none of the Top 5 Songs I listened to were by any of the Top 5 Artists. Top 0.005% for Uptown Funk. Thanks being in a function band and producing a demo...
I don't usually have a top song from my top artist, I was rather surprised this year all my top 5 songs were from my top artist... so been playing the album a lot!Philly_Q said:The top song on my list is one that would often begin a random playlist when I got to the end of whatever album I was listening to. Kiasmos is no surprise - the new album is perfect. Top 0.05% for Jacaranda (by Kaguu).
My Wrapped is severely influenced by the fact my daughter has obsessed over Dutch musician Joost Klein this year and insists that we play her playlist whenever she’s in the van with me. As a teacher, I have Summer off work, so there were a LOT of van trips. All of my top 5 songs are his, and he is also my top artist.
To be honest, it’s a refreshing change; I use Spotify for my DJ sets at my wedding gigs, so my Spotify Wrapped is usually chock full of either those songs or whatever drivel I have had to listen to for learning first dances.

Damn, some of you listened to over 120,000 minutes... and Saxon.
I'm off to check out the new Kiasmos
Pretty simple list from me, top 5 are not as interesting as a top ten (more jazzy).

Shed Seven were my top band…..and Rick Witter actually sent me a video message to thank me personally…..which was nice., :)
Does anyone know if there is a way of getting the complete list of ones' listening on Spotify. The last 2 years do look odd
Christmas I will write off because it was playlists of christmassy stuff. May was preparing for the Southern Jam I think. Bur the others are odd - I played a lot of Magnums Storytellers Might because of his passing but not a single mention for example

Mine's a bit boring

I suppose I really ought to buy that Saxon album, seeing what a contribution it made to my Spotify Wrapped. I own everything else in my top fives.
Nice to see Marcus King in your list.Dontgiveupyourdayjob said:Weirdly, none of the Top 5 Songs I listened to were by any of the Top 5 Artists. Doesn't seem right to me somehow?? :/
Mine is skewed by chilled stuff I listen to fall asleep to at night .. The Orb being my top choice for this purpose.
Band wise, War on Drugs certainly my biggest band of the year, and had a big Smashing Pumpkins phase.

Love that album!
I'm surprised they weren't in my list
.
I dunno... all that listening you did... you've probably already contributed about 3p. ;)Philly_Q said:I suppose I really ought to buy that Saxon album, seeing what a contribution it made to my Spotify Wrapped. I own everything else in my top fives.
I reckon I've bought Last Dinner Party at least a Freddo.
I've bought it now. I wonder how much they get from the sale of one CD?darthed1981 said:I dunno... all that listening you did... you've probably already contributed about 3p. ;)Philly_Q said:I suppose I really ought to buy that Saxon album, seeing what a contribution it made to my Spotify Wrapped. About 13-15% if they have a reasonable deal IIRC.Philly_Q said:I've bought it now. On reflection, I think I've done well this year - I've seen 3 out of my top 5 artists live this year (PJ, MK Jr, Bruce), and just yesterday I bought tickets for JD McPherson's UK leg of his tour next summer! =)RocknRollDave said:Nice to see Marcus King in your list.Dontgiveupyourdayjob said:Weirdly, none of the Top 5 Songs I listened to were by any of the Top 5 Artists. Bit of a weird one for me this year! I listen to more podcasts than music on Spotify so this has just picked up some of the stuff that I've played a few times. That unpeople EP is a banger though.

My top artists were
The Rolling Stones
Esther Phillips
Aretha Franklin
Tyrone Davis
Marlena Shaw
And I listened for 30,442 minutes. Most of this was music, just a couple of podcasts during workouts.

Mine was skewed by songs I've been learning for the band. I've listened to Cigarettes and Alcohol more than anything else. I've spent more time on podcasts and audiobooks than music this year. I can't get back to screenshot it for some reason.
My Spotify wrapped has been screwed up because my account's connected with the Amazon Echo, which my wife uses to play music in the kitchen. So my most-played song was 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover by Paul Simon, which I've never deliberately played in my life.
I've now linked the Echo to her account instead. Here's hoping for a better Wrapped next year.
