What soldering iron can you guys recommend to install some new pickups in my les paul?  Also I may have a go at some fuzz pedal building in the near future with it also??

I saw a draper 40w one on Amazon £25 or Antex 25w with a chisel tip and stand is like £48

I can heartily recommend getting the Antex XS25, but swapping the tip to a #52 large chisel tip
The fat chisel tip acts as a heat reservoir and makes soldering to the backs of pots easy and the tip size is still great for wiring up too
Also get some solder with 4% silver (or 3.7% or whatever - will make the job way easier)

At Feline all our workbenches have the Antex , along with a Hakko X88 for small fiddly work , but we couldn't be without the Antex.

@FelineGuitars thanks.  Is there a tip that can be used on the antex for pedal building?  If so what size?  I’m a Newbie to this and I rather have one unit that does both for how much use it would get.  Which is not much.
The tip it comes with may well be fine for that - you can swap the tips when the iron is COLD
They do a lot of even smaller precision tips for that iron too - see below
The iron comes with the number 50 bit as standard

For pedal building I liked a 1-1.5mm chisel bit. Small enough to be accurate, big enough to transfer the heat well. I've even free-soldered 0.3mm wires onto teeny SMD LEDs with that size.
