the answer I was looking for*

Wiring up a Strat with 2x Humbucker sized P90s for a friends son.
He’s after a Master volume, tone pot per pickup and a 3 way blade rather than toggle switch.
The bit I’m struggling with is the tone pot per pickup and the fact that the wiring kit he bought only came with one capacitor. Can you share one cap across two tone pots ? Seems a bit odd

Any help gratefully received

Using the modern Telecaster switch wiring, terminals labelled,

5678
1234

1 > 2 > 7 > 8 > volume pot > output jack

4 bridge pickup and its tone pot.
5 neck pickup and its tone pot.

When both pickups are selected, both tone pots are operational. This could prove beneficial if you choose different capacitor values for each tone control.

e.g. If the supplied cap is .047 or .033uF, use it for the bridge pickup tone control and a lower value for the neck pickup.

If the supplied cap is .022uF, source a .015 for the neck pickup.
