Poopot's Cover Challenge #30 - the letter Q
Comments
Love Garbage. Love Shirley. Love this choice.
Now, can I do it justice while also doing something different with it.

Not one I know, but i might actually have to listen to it to learn it as there isn't a score for it on Musescore like there was for Plush
I like that it's going to be quite different than my current choice of Que Sera Sera

If you go with your current choice, then whatever will be will be. You might end up going to Wembley.thecolourbox said:Not one I know, but i might actually have to listen to it to learn it as there isn't a score for it on Musescore like there was for Plush![]()

Question: what if the chosen song has two words on its title but only the second one starts with a Q (and the first one is not The)? Would that be breaking the rules too much?
That would.fnpt said:Question: what if the chosen song has two words on its title but only the second one starts with a Q (and the first one is not The)? Would that be breaking the rules too much?
Unless perhaps it's a song I really like and would be willing to abuse my powers
I think I have 3 good candidates that I could deliver decently. I'm feeling a bit more like myself finally so will try and prioritise and get at least one done this side of xmas. I'd like to do all 3 tbh. Please push me if I don't come back soon...!!
It’s a classic…flying_pie said:That would.fnpt said:Question: what if the chosen song has two words on its title but only the second one starts with a Q (and the first one is not The)? Would that be breaking the rules too much?

If he really wants to do Dancing Queen then I say let him soar...flying_pie said:That would.fnpt said:Question: what if the chosen song has two words on its title but only the second one starts with a Q (and the first one is not The)? Would that be breaking the rules too much?

I'm going to do the chosen song because its ace.
The problem I have lately is that there's a banging Malmsteen track for every letter lol ... fml ... etc

There's only three 'Q' songs on my iPod, and one of them is indeed by Yngwie J.
Fine by me. Just put the word Dancing in brackets. I'm only going to allow this flexibility for Q (and probably X and maybe Z)idiotwind said:If he really wants to do Dancing Queen then I say let him soar...flying_pie said:That would.fnpt said:Question: what if the chosen song has two words on its title but only the second one starts with a Q (and the first one is not The)? Here are the Poopot's Cover Challenge official mandatory challenges just for @Bezzer for 2025. Feel free to add extra covers if you wish:Bezzer said:I'm going to do the chosen song because its ace.

Q - Queen in Love by Yngwie Malmsteen
R - Rising Force by Yngwie Malmsteen or Race with the Devil on Spanish Highway by Al Di Meola
S - Stars by Yngwie Malmsteen or Satch Boogie by Joe Satriani (the drum programming alone would be hard AF) or Scarified by Racer X
T - Trilogy Suite Opus 5 by Yngwie Malmsteen or Through The Fire and The Flames by DragonForce or Tumeni Notes by Steve Morse or Technical Difficulties by Racer X
Excellent - allows (God Save) The Queen ;)flying_pie said:Fine by me. Just put the word Dancing in brackets. You could add Spanish Fly by Van Halen if he has a spare few minutes.
It's weird, I both love you and hate you at the same time ...flying_pie said:Here are the Poopot's Cover Challenge official mandatory challenges just for @Bezzer for 2025. Feel free to add extra covers if you wish:Bezzer said:I'm going to do the chosen song because its ace.

I've actually done versions ot the R and T Malmsteens, the S Racer X and T Dragon Force before. And used to play Satch Boogie in a covers band. But .... I've not done any of them in a while so ... I have a list. They will have to be "straight" and not interpretations I guess, otherwise what's the point.
Sometimes I think you actually wish me harm ha ha.
Well I've got the Tim Henson electric nylon string so ... fiiiiiiine ha haHabanero said:You could add Spanish Fly by Van Halen if he has a spare few minutes.

Perfect, thanks.
P.S. It's not Dancing Queen though, sorry to disappoint...
The winner of our last challenge was @IMC1980 ;; who has been tasked with the unenviable picking of a song beginning with the letter Q
which is a song by someone from my hometown and I recall when she was a keyboard player in a local band before they split and the guitarist Big John Duncan joined Nirvana for a tour prior to Pat Smear becoming the extra guitarist but I digress....
...
Queer by Garbage
If don't want to cover the chosen track then you can choose any song starting with Q or Q preceded by "the" from the millions of other songs beginning with Q like... yeah... okay there aren't exactly millions and that's probably one of the better ones out there...
So if you cover the chosen track you will automatically receive a bonus 5pts as a head start
