Focusrite - UA Plugins issues

Hi all,

I have a focusrite 2i2 gen 3 and Logic Pro as a DAW. I recently bought the UA Lion and Dream 65 plugins. They sound amazing. However if I record more than two tracks (on one track) with those plugins used it crashes my recording and I get error messages stating things like

Check conflict between Logic Pro and external device. It often references the sample rate.

To try and fix this I have made sure that both the focusrite and Logic are recording at 44.1 (whatever that means).

I have played around with the buffer in my focusrite and that doesn’t change anything either.

Is it a case that really to use these effectively (and record multiple guitar tracks on one song) I need to buy an interface like an Apollo? That seems pricey.

Any help would be appreciated.

Any ideas on what the issue could be? I have ordered an external hard drive as I have been told that could be the cause of the problem.

Oddly I had the same thing recently using UA plugins from an OX via an Apollo.  I was bleating about sample rates and has never done that in several years of this set up.  Am guessing it’s probably an update from MacOS or similar but interested to know if anyone has had success in fixing it

Contact UA Support.
They have a team of people waiting to take calls just like this.

Unlikely to be this if you gave a recent Mac, as the internal drive will be much faster than a USB or Thunderbolt drive.

Are you setting the latency correctly for recording and then again for playback? As Logic will crash if you don't give it enough resources to do either.
