vs a EHX Lester K, Micro Vent or the new Keeley one?

It's somewhere between fine -> pretty good.

I choose the words deliberately.

I'm a massive rotary fan. I gigged with a Lex for a couple of years and thoroughly enjoyed over-using the speed ramping.

When the band stopped I sold a bunch of things and not had a dedicated spinny thing since but have tried to love the one in HX stuff and only ended up liking it.

From demos (and I stress not used in person) I think I'd like the Vent, a Rotosphere (ha!) Or that there new Keeley. All of those SEEM to me like they'd be a bit more visceral than the slightly polite ones in the HX gear (I've had a Helix and a HX FX - still have the FX)

Not played loads yet but I think the last one they did ( triple ) was best. Think it’s based of the Yamaha Cab.
I do much prefer slow sounds though and don’t enjoy the fast SRV thing as much.
I used it on a Beatles show (Let It Be solo). It was the sound I had the least success with (tweaked it as much as possible and the band pointed out it didn’t sound that close to the original).

It’s a very different flavour to other effects in the Helix though, so worth experimenting with. I only used the HX Stomp and a midi controlled for that tour and it did a great job of most things. I didn’t love the amp sounds, but still chose it over the venue amps (for gain staging reasons). It really depends on how accurate you need this stuff to be.

Best one I've used is in the mobius or the h90/h9.  Have used the hx (effects, stomp, one), terraform, boss md500, plethora and various other multi effects in context

I've not tried the HX One but the one in the M5 is not bad considering it's a multi-fx. It's certainly a lot better than the one in the Zoom multi-stomps. I recall the M5 actually has a couple of variants and it allows you use an expression pedal to switch between hi and low speed.

I don't doubt that a dedicated rotary pedal will sound better though.

Cheers chaps.

I'm also after the slow grinding tones over the annoying SRV clone shit.

Looks like the search continues

It’s fine. H90 is def better, as you’d expect.

I’m very keen to try the new Keeley one

I use the vibratone in my HX Stomp but I have to use eq to take away the low end

FWIW the Micro vent 122 is beautiful, plus the blend control makes it super versatile and more pleasing to place in a chain with fuzz or distortion.

I think the Lex is probably best for slow speeds out of all I tried but it was definitely better in stereo.
I’m now trying a CE-1 clone which can get me similar tones when used with a drive pedal.

I've not tried any rotary pedals to compare the HX ones to, but I definitely want a rotary pedal at some point because the Live 6 ones don't scratch the itch for me.  In fact I prefer the legacy M series one, but it doesn't ramp, just fast or slow.

So basically meh

I've said this before, so I'll say it again...

You can't beat a real spinning speaker for the in-room sound, eg. a real Leslie or Vibratone. The chorusing effect you get on the slow speed is mahoosive!

But, this probably doesn't help your quest =)
Full size Neo Vent in stereo isn't bad either.

I bought mine when they first came out because it was a sound I'd always lusted after, even though I don't use it much. I'd searched in vain for years for a pedal that did a Leslie, and when the Neo Vent appeared I had to have it. It spends most of its life in its box, but I have no plans to sell it.

Honestly I really regret selling my NUX Roctary which was ace for the slow stuff.

The Micro Vent seems ace but is quite spendy for an occasional use pedal. So I was looking at the Lester K or Fender Pinwheel and then wondered if an HX One would be good enough but I don't think it will scratch the itch.

I would absolutely love to but it's so much more of an occasional thing I can't justify silly money.

Maybe could do some of the cheaper options though
