Slipknot
Just saw them live tonight. Possibly and probably the best live metal band I’ve ever seen. Anyone else see them on this tour? 25 years in, and utterly mindblowing.

Saw them in maybe 2000 or 2001 I think. They were incredible then and I can imagine still are.
Love Slipknot in a live setting. I only own two of their albums, but my son has been a fan for a long time. They were his gateway band to a whole load of other stuff.
This in Brum? an old friend of mine had posted some pictures on Facebook pre gig.
I saw them a few years ago (think 2015) and for me more a 'yeh I've seen them maan' band rather than an act I'd want to see again, very much on the periphery of anything I'd ever normally listen to.
I remember some hellacious arguments on the car park after with people not coping well with the gridlock that tends to occur trying to exit. I bet that still happened.

@EricTheWeary It was indeed Birmingham! Didn’t drive so no gridlock for me.
Oh good. It's invariably awful and this close to Christmas even worse. Normally people just sit it out but the Slipknot crowd seemed less patient.theatreanchor said:@EricTheWeary It was indeed Birmingham! Didn’t drive so no gridlock for me.
My son works for the NEC group and sometimes he gets ticket offers but nothing for Slipknot so probably sold out well in advance. Not many things seem to completely sell out usually just Peter Kay, Iron Maiden and Madness.
@EricTheWeary Sit it out? The Slipknot crowd would prefer to Spit it out!
Couldn’t resist.
Sorry.

Well, NIA, quite quickly. My son has a spreadsheet of gigs I'd like cheap tickets for and I can never get Madness.lustycourtier said:Madness sell out the NEC?!EricTheWeary said:Oh good. Selling out doesn't necessarily mean filling the whole venue as they can reduce capacity. So perfectly possible that they are selling out 2/3rds capacity and stick at that.
This year I think I've seen Depeche Mode (NIA) and Eric Clapton (NEC). Clapton was a long way off sold out, Depeche Mode sold out and we had limited view tickets that weren't on sale to the general public.
Last time I saw Madness was at the O2. Sold out. They’re a great Brit institution and still put out decent new music for their fans.EricTheWeary said:Well, NIA, quite quickly.
