Your best gear acquisition in 2024?

Another year coming to a close. What gear did you get this year that you're most chuffed about? I have to say my Harley Benton spaceship pedalboard with built in battery power supply is a "game changer" :) Sorted out my HX Effects power need, and my setup is completely wireless now.

Defo the mesa express after three years of only having fractal/fender fr12… so great to be back in valve land!

Gretsch Streamliner - first time I'd bought a new guitar for years and very pleased with it. Makes me want another Gretsch, but then I wouldn't play the Streamliner so much. Think I'll stick.

Never thought I’d say this but the Boss WL-20 wireless system that I bought second-hand this year, principally for use in a tribute band playing the theatre circuit. After years of thinking that I didn’t want my precious toanz unnecessarily digitised, or to add another potential failure point to my setup, I’ve discovered how liberating it is to go wireless.

Hense casein plectrums. The closest thing I’ve found to the sound and feel of tortoiseshell.

The prs Tremonti SE that I won in a guitar giveaway. Cost me £4.95.

Also the marshall DSL40cr. The amp I should have bought 5 years ago.

Pedal wise I’ve changed loads but the Empress Para eq deluxe is a total game changer on acoustic gigs for me.

I've been on a shoestring for more than a decade, but a new job in a new continent has resulted in a few new toys

Marshall st20h and matching 2x12
Benson Germanium fuzz
Benson preamp
Strymon el cap v2
Strymon Lex v2
Strymon big sky V2
MXR Duke of Tone

They're all great, but the marshall in combination with the Powerstation is epic

Ibanez PGM301

Lusted after one for decades but never went there thinking I’d not get along with the neck.
Can I shred? Nope.
Does it do everything I need it to in my classic rock band whilst looking cool with its reverse headstock and painted f-holes? Yes.
Have I finally found a humbucker loaded guitar I love? You bet I have.
Do I hate the neck? Nope, amazingly comfy.

Got to be my Peavey Classic 30. Lighter than the 50, does the job just as well in most rooms.
In second place we have my Player HSS Fiesta Red, in third place we have my K&M 19790 tablet mic stand mount. All very bog standard bits of kit that make me happy when I see them because I know they'll do the job.

I reckon it's the Tonex pedal for me.

It transformed the sounds from my Katana and gives me all the valvey sounds I might want without the noise or hassle.
