This is weird. I just got my shipping notice for Haslab’s trap & PKE meter…
Have you been drinking heavily, suffered a recent concussion or been rootling about in the confiscated drugs items in the police station's secure storage area?Emp_Fab said:Not a joke.... this site is selling actual ghost hunting equipment ! Thankfully it's not priced at Russ Andrews levels - though to be fair, his stuff at least performs the basic intended task.
Peter Venkman would be proud.
Sadly no Unlicenced Nuclear Accelerators though....

I repeat - this is not a joke - they are serious.
No! Check the website! It's real!
Talking of confiscated drugs... There's one station I've been to a few times that has a secure underground car park and I would often park up and see sacks and sacks of it piled up where they'd unloaded the vans after a bust on a farm. I've never seen so much in my life! I mean, they've got to put it all somewhere before it gets destroyed.

A friend would like me to ask for the address of this car park.
Lol.... I'm sure it's the same in many stations across the UK. It's big business. People are growing it by the truckload all over the place. I can't imagine they ever manage to get the stink out of the vans.

I wouldn't know. I've never touched the stuff.
This thread just reminded me of this 1983 Sinclair Spectrum game
It was the part about "... his stuff at least performs the basic intended task".Emp_Fab said:No! Check the website! It's real!

That of detecting ghosts, which do not exist. Hmmm... right ;)
Don't cross the beams!!
I think Emp meant that Russ Andrews' stuff does work for its intended task.Kittyfrisk said:It was the part about "... his stuff at least performs the basic intended task".Emp_Fab said:No! Check the website! It's real!

Was there doubt that it basically worked? I thought it was all about the inflated prices & claims?Sporky said:I think Emp meant that Russ Andrews' stuff does work for its intended task.Kittyfrisk said:It was the part about "... his stuff at least performs the basic intended task".Emp_Fab said:No! Yes. I think that was the point.
Well that device depicted in the OP will definitely work. It has a Rowin Noise Gate (£18), a cheap digital delay of unknown branding (£18), an AliExpress Hbaebdoo 5W amp (£12), a glowing light stick (£1.99), an old fold-down bed spring (£0.00), and several patch cables, coloured LEDs and gizmos (+/- £20). That's about £69.99 worth of quality gear there ........ It retails at WHAT?
Yes ladies and gentlemen, it is being sold as an "ITC Live EVP Audio Processor Noise Gate Echo Spirit Portal Wonder Box Paranormal" for £249.99. At least I got the .99 part right.

As soon as mine arrives I'm off to do some urban exploration of abandoned Victorian asylums. I will add the recorded sounds to my next multitrack project for ambience.
Indeed it was.Sporky said:Yes. I think that was the point.
Too nuanced for me
Hardly... You must have got it twisted in your head! I was comparing this company selling useless crap that does nothing at all, to Russ Andrews selling crap. I said at least the Russ Andrews crap performs at the basic required level.

Peter Venkman would be proud.
