Goodbye Mum

As I'm round friends here, just wanted to get it off my chest that my mum died this evening, after a long battle with Alzheimer's and a short battle with cancer. 
She died peacefully in her sleep in my sister's arms.
Feel totally deflated.

That’s sad @Axe_meister. I lost my Mum to Alzheimer’s 2 years ago. It’s especially hard at this time of year. Take care of yourself.

I remember losing my Mum like it was yesterday. But it wasn't, and now I remember her as she was.

Grieve for your loss the coming days, but know that eventually the memories of all the good will overpower these next awful few weeks.

Sorry for your loss. It's hard when a parent goes,  hope you're ok. 

As goodbyes go, that is one of the best ways to go, with someone close to you. It doesn't make the loss easier but it does sound peaceful.

Condolences Axe , I’ve lost a fair few friends but my parents are still hanging in there . I’m dreading the day tbh so I can only imagine how difficult it is for you all.  Take care of yourself

Really sorry to hear this. It's two years ago today that my Dad died, also from Alzheimer's so I can fully sympathise. Horrible disease.

I'm glad that you were there for you Mum though and that her final moments were peaceful and surrounded by family.

Sorry to hear that mate. There'll be a lot going through your head at the moment but make sure you look after yourself.
When my mum passed I thought I was on top of it but a week later I was in Sainsburys. I wondered what take round to mum for her tea. Suddenly I was wedged against a freezer crying unstoppably.

I remember holding my mother's hand as she passed and although she was in her 90s and I'm getting to be an old man it still hurts so much, never seems fair.
